Movies
We were Soldiers Mel Gibson story of the fighting Men of the 1st Cav along with LTC Moore and the TET Offensive of 1965 and what we learned from it. A great movie with some dramatic licenses employed but overall a great movie. 1:38 Hours
Hamburger Hill Takes place on hill 937 1969 with the Screaming Eagles of 101st Airborne. A good movie but in my opinion down played on what actually took place and the amount of causalities we had. As a side note Art Wiknik my cousin who wrote the Book Nam-Sense and was at our run in 2007 and spoke, I have a copy of this book if you would like to read.
Under Heavy Fire A look at the battles of Echo Company during Vietnam a fair/good movie and that about it
Born On The Fourth Of July This movie is about Ron Kovic one of the most decorated Marines in Vietnam and the multiple tours he served and the way he was treated by our own VA Hospitals and our Government. When he returned from Vietnam on his 3rd tour as a quadriplegic. I had the privilege of working with Ron in the 70's along with Max Cl eland on committees to help reform the VA and it's conditions and treatment of our returning Heroes's.
